D.C. Council leaders have vowed to expedite a marriage equality bill and said they hope to put it to a final vote before Christmas. Congressional officials said it appears unlikely that Congress will block the bill, but its long-term survival could be in doubt depending on the future makeup of the House and Senate. [Link]
