State legislatures in N.Y. and N.J. have yet to schedule long-awaited votes on bills that would extend marriage equality to gay couples. Despite delays, many LGBT equality advocates remain optimistic that marriage for gay couples will advance in these and other states. Freedom to Marry's Evan Wolfson notes, "In any civil rights struggle there are going to be periods of creeping and periods of leaping." [Link]
