NY Republican Assemblywoman Votes for Equality, Constituents Respond with Support

Last year, Representative Teresa R. Sayward, a three-term Republican from NY's North County voted in favor of ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage in New York. Proving fears of support for marriage are unwarranted, she received an "excellent reception" from her constituents who either agreed with her vote or respected her principled stand. Rep. Sayward's actions are an example of the simple courage needed to ensure the freedom to marry throughout our country.
