Equality California Launches New TV Ads

Equality California: Win Marriage Back, Make it Real
Equality California is launching the largest grassroots mobilization and public education campaign for the freedom to marry in California history.

To kick it off, they are airing a series of TV commercials statewide. The ads feature real couples and LGBT youth discussing why marriage matters and how inequality hurts. (Link)

These ads are great! Unfortunately, EQCA - once again proving why Prop 8 passed in CA - decided to air the ads during the Rachel Maddow Show. In an attempt to gain more support from our supporters....? I look forward to a time when the huge organizations that I'm giving my money to will take a risk. When EQCA will buy air time during an hour when those that do NOT support marriage equality are watching. Until then, wonderful ads like these will continue to be produced for no reason and California will remain behind the curve in our ongoing fight for marriage equality. Ugh.

Hi Kate -- targeting ads can be difficult -- especially without a lot of money to air them widely. The more you can do to circulate them on the web, the better -- especially if you talk about your own support for the freedom to marry.
