New York Governor David Paterson's administration has reached out to a surprising new ally in its quest to convince Senate Republicans to vote "yes" on the governor's bill to legalize the freedom to marry: former Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno. Bruno has yet to agree to lobby his old colleagues but is "considering" siding with marriage equality advocates, a source familiar with the discussions revealed. If he does get involved, it would signal the end of a long evolution. [Link]
