Valesky undecided on freedom to marry

Utica Observer Dispatch

The highest-ranking upstate Democrat in the New York State Senate, David Valesky, says he’s rethinking his stance on marriage equality. Valesky’s spokeswoman, Jessica DeCerce, on Sunday said the legislator, who represents parts of the Mohawk Valley, is undecided after publicly opposing the freedom to marry just two months ago. “Senator Valesky continues to meet with and listen to constituents about the issue,” DeCerce said in an e-mailed statement Sunday night.
