Opponents of Referendum 71, which seeks to preserve Wash. state's expanded domestic partnership law, have "cast the measure as a strategic step for the LGBT community to ultimately win full marriage rights." LGBT equality advocates, however, assert that R-71 "is not about a theoretical end game," and is about "very real families living in our state right now without legal protections.” [Link]
