Gay couples can be effective parents, researchers find

An international research review by sociologists at NYU and USC has found that children of gay couples do as well as those raised by heterosexual couples. Their review, which will be published in the Journal of Marriage and Family, concludes: "No research supports the widely held conviction that the gender of parents matters for child well-being."
