Eve Conant reports that children are playing an important role in the federal Proposition 8 trial thus far. The anti-gay defense argued that marriage equality could "de-institutionalize" marriage from one that is "pro-child and pro-procreation," while the plaintiffs are arguing that the use of children in Prop 8 ads has had a discriminatory effect on gay people.
